Women of Excellence Recognized Through Local Campaign

One of the greatest displays of humility is not just allowing those around you to shine in the spotlight, but purposefully turning the attention away from yourself so that others may be magnified.

Very few people understand how to embrace that humble spirit, but Stay Positive News’ own Sarah Ricciardi does, and she does it well.

Four times a year Sarah hosts a digital portfolio she calls “Women of Excellence,” highlighting women in the community who are impacting those around them through their chosen vocation. In other words, the women recognized go beyond their typically job requirements to embrace their calling at higher levels.

Sarah got the idea in 2020 after a decade of developing relationships with women from different walks of life thanks to her experience as a Mary Kay representative.

“One of the ways God has gifted me is being able to see strengths in people and being able to articulate that,” Sarah said. “I believe that we are all called to use our platform to serve others around us.”

The women Sarah highlights throughout the campaign span a wide variety of professions, but they all share a few common attributes. She looks for women of integrity who are passionate about what they are doing. More importantly, Sarah wants her Women of Excellence to possess two very important traits: positive attitudes and growth mindsets.

“The one characteristic they share is that they are so positive,” Sarah said. “They are also all very willing to learn new ways to make a difference.”

The portfolio of each woman incorporates the answers to three questions that calls attention to their true character.

What advice would you give your younger self?

What advice would you give a peer?

What are your favorite aspects of your job?

Sarah says her favorite part about the Women of Excellence campaigns are reading the comments from friends of the honorees.

“Depending on the type of job they have, they may not hear how wonderful they are very often,” said Sarah. “They are always so appreciative of being recognized.”

The current Women of Excellence portfolio, “Sparkle and Shine” is now available to view. Check out her Instagram and Facebook pages here to see all the wonderful women recognized throughout the month of July.

Sarah, thank you for highlighting the wonderful women within our community!
