Women Empowering Education Returns to Support Student Scholarships

Volunteer State Community College is thrilled to announce the upcoming Women Empowering Education luncheon, set to take place on April 4th, 2025 at 11:00 am. This inspiring, sell-out annual event, held at Our Lady of the Lake in Hendersonville, supports scholarships for Vol State students.

Women Empowering Education, with proud title sponsors META, Highpoint Health – Sumner with Ascension St. Thomas, and the National Association of Small Trucking Companies (NASTC), promises to be a wonderfully engaging luncheon where women come together, network, and have a great time while helping VSCC students complete their dream of an education.

Returning by popular demand, comedian Lisa Smartt will take the stage, bringing her signature humor and heartfelt storytelling to encourage and inspire guests.

Since 2009, 168 students have been awarded scholarships from Women Empowering Education donations, totaling over $500,000. It is through the generosity of our sponsors and guests that the dream of an education can become a reality for students.

“It is supported by businesses, individuals, community groups, and civic clubs that have made these scholarships possible. We invite you to consider investing in the future leaders of our community through sponsorship of this event,” said Alison Webster, Development Officer for the Vol State Foundation.

While there is no cost to attend the event, a suggested minimum donation of $60 will be encouraged during the luncheon. RSVPs are required. To reserve a spot, please contact Alison Webster at alison.webster@volstate.edu or call 615-230-3506.

Join a morning of laughter, connection, and empowerment—all in support of student success.

The Vol State Foundation, a separate 501c3 non-profit of the college, makes a difference in the lives of students every day by awarding scholarships to those who might not otherwise be able to obtain a college education.
