White House Realtors: Champions of Small Town, Boutique Real Estate

Mr. Todd Tregoning had big dreams when he first opened the doors of White House Realtors in 1986. Twenty years after his passing, his business operates with the same core values: upholding high ethical standards and treating each client as if they are the most important thing– because they are.

“When I make big decisions, I think, ‘what would Todd do?’ It’s his business. He started it, and I’m just carrying it for him,” says owner and Broker Brenda Kersey, who describes Todd as having been a kind, ethical, and detail-oriented man.

After Todd’s unexpected passing in 2003, Brenda was asked to manage the brokerage. During this time, there were several companies who put offers on the business, as Brenda describes. “We were a locally owned, small town business.  A ‘big box,’ franchise company just didn’t feel right.”

Then Brenda was asked by those in charge of the estate if she thought about purchasing the brokerage. After some consideration, she took a leap of faith and became the official owner in 2004.

“It was a little scary, but I’m so thankful that I did. It was unfortunate circumstances, but it felt like the right thing to do,” explains Brenda.

Today, White House Realtors still stands as a pillar of the White House community. Their office building at 2637 Hwy. 31W has incredible curb appeal, as it sits right off the highway unobstructed and is a charming, two-story “home” with a large brick sign out front. This space has served as their office since 1988, when it was built specifically for this purpose by Todd.

Despite the Brokerage servicing all of Middle Tennessee, White House Realtors prides itself in being a hometown company with a family atmosphere.

“We all cheer each other on when someone gets a new listing,” says Brenda, beaming, as she describes her wonderful team of realtors. “Our agents have a staggering 190 years of combined experience. We have such a diverse group with a wide range in background and age, but we all work cohesively as a loving family.”

In addition to being great realtors and professionals, Brenda and the agents at White House Realtors also love pouring into the community where they all work, play, and live, and they understand the value in giving back.

On the first Tuesday of each month, you will find their agents walking the greenway and picking up trash after their sales meeting. The brokerage has adopted a portion of the greenway and has pledged to keep it clean.

Additionally, they have been known to sponsor many local athletic programs and teams, participate in the annual Christmas parade, host food trucks in their parking lot for an initiative they call “Why Cook Wednesday,” and Brenda is one of the founders of the Rovers Ridge Dog Park

“I’m extremely proud of our reputation within the community,” says Brenda. “We put honesty and integrity into everything we do as a brokerage and as individuals.”

At the end of the day, when you need help with a real estate transaction, whether it be buying a home, selling a home, or you’re in need of property management, White House Realtors hopes to earn your business.

“We want everyone to walk away from a transaction thinking, ‘What a great experience. We’re so glad we used this company,’” says Brenda.
