White House First United Methodist Church Hosts Blood Drive

Debbie Hartman and June Sykes, both members of White House First United Methodist Church (WHFUMC), in partnership with the American Red Cross, are proud to organize a blood drive at the White House First United Methodist Church in White House, TN. The event is a positive step towards addressing the current shortage of blood donations and supports WHFUMC's mission to be the hands and feet of Christ within their community.

With blood shortages a common concern across the United States, the team at the WHFUMC saw an opportunity to offer a local place for donors to give. The partners believe that this blood drive will show love and support to those in need of blood and serve the community in a meaningful way.

The upcoming blood drive is Monday, June 5th, 2023 from 1 pm until 7 pm and will take place in the Fellowship Hall. Following the success of this event, another blood drive is planned for August, with more details to follow.

It is essential for potential donors to be well-informed before donating blood. Eligibility requirements are set by the Red Cross for all donors. A donor must be at least 17 years old and pass a basic health screening to be considered eligible. Donors may give blood every 56 days, up to a maximum of 6 donations per year.

To schedule your donation or learn more about eligibility, you can visit the Red Cross website at www.redcrossblood.org. Simply enter your zip code to find blood drives in your area. WHFUMC and the Red Cross recommend registering online before attending to save time the day of the event.

The White House First United Methodist Church is proud to promote life-saving initiatives while acting as a beacon of hope, light, and love within their community. By joining forces with the Red Cross, the church aims to be an active participant in the wider effort to address the urgent need for blood donations in the United States.

They want to encourage local media to attend the blood drive and support this vital initiative in the community. For any further details, questions, or other inquiries, please contact WHFUMC.
