TriStar Skyline Medical Center Unveils New PET/CT Scanner

TriStar Skyline Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of a permanent PET/CT scanner housed within the hospital, replacing the previous mobile unit. The advanced scanner offers newer technology that delivers faster results and helps doctors to provide individualized treatment plans for their patients.

“We’re excited to provide this cutting-edge technology on-site daily," said Brian Marger, chief executive officer at TriStar Skyline. "This technology gives our patients access to critical diagnostics faster, allowing us to tailor treatment plans more precisely and improve care. It reflects our ongoing commitment to improving access to the latest medical advancements while providing exceptional care to those we serve.”

PET/CT scans are advanced tools used primarily to detect and diagnose cancer. The technology will also be used to detect neurological disorders like Alzheimer's, infections and lung conditions. It will also aid in surgical planning. By using a special tracer to highlight areas of high metabolic activity, these scans give a clearer, more detailed picture of how organs and tissues function, helping providers make more informed treatment decisions.

TriStar Skyline will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Madison-Rivergate and Goodlettsville chambers of commerce today, Wednesday, October 23 at noon, followed by a reception. The public and members of the media are welcome to attend. Those attending are asked to use the Sarah Cannon entrance for the event.
