TriStar Northcrest Colleagues Join Forces, Send Relief to Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC

This weekend, five colleagues from TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center joined more than 60 colleagues from TriStar Health to travel to Asheville, North Carolina to support, assist and provide relief to caregivers at HCA Healthcare affiliate Mission Hospital. As Hurricane Helene swept through Western North Carolina last week, it brought torrential rain, widespread power outages and cell service disruptions. Through challenging days, Mission Hospital colleagues have selflessly served their community and supported their patients without hesitation.

"I am proud of our five colleagues who volunteered without hesitation to go help our neighbors and fellow colleagues in North Carolina,” said Jennifer Hellweg, interim chief nursing officer. “The team arrived quickly and immediately began working alongside Mission Hospital colleagues who have lost so much.”

In addition to deploying physicians and nurses to the region, HCA Healthcare is providing mobile units with kitchens, bathrooms and handwashing stations. Mini marts have also been set up inside the hospital to provide doctors, nurses and other hospital staff with free groceries, including food, water and toiletries.
