TriStar Hendersonville Announces Plans to Bring Freestanding ER to White House

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center announced today that it plans to apply for a Certificate of Need with the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission to establish a new freestanding emergency room in White House. The state-of-the-art facility will enhance healthcare access and critical emergency services to a community that has more than doubled in size since 2000.

“We are proud to be the hospital of choice for the residents of White House and surrounding communities, and we look forward to bringing our care closer to home,” said Justin Coury, Chief Executive Officer of TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center. “This new freestanding emergency room will ensure that residents can access high-quality emergency care much faster which can save lives.”

White House has experienced significant growth, more than doubling from just over 7,200 residents in 2000 to over 15,000 in 2023, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau. A freestanding ER can do all the things a hospital-based ER can do. It can treat heart attacks, strokes, broken bones and other emergencies. The only difference is that it isn't connected to a hospital, allowing them to be located in communities that are miles away from the nearest ER to provide faster care.

The proposed freestanding emergency room will feature:

• 11 treatment/exam rooms

• Trauma room

• Imaging department

• Nursing station

• Support space
