SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. – The City of Springfield is excited to host the annual lighted Christmas Parade at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 in downtown Springfield.

A record number of 90 parade units will proceed along South Main Street, including marching bands, community groups, small businesses, and more. Local resident and Fox 17 News anchor Jennifer Waddell will be the parade grand marshal.

The parade will travel through downtown Springfield beginning at South Main Street and 10th Avenue, to 5th Avenue and South Main Street, concluding after 5th Avenue and Connell Street. Staging for large parades utilizes side streets, including Hill Street, Willow Street, and 10th Avenue, to merge parade participants into the main flow onto South Main Street.

Attendees should be advised of downtown road closures and are encouraged to arrive early to find parking and your favorite place to watch the festivities. Shine Pediatric Therapy will host a Sensory Friendly Viewing Area at Springfield Family Dental, 201 5th Ave W, Springfield, TN.

· 10th Avenue, between South Main Street and Memorial Boulevard.

These roads will close to traffic at 5:45 p.m.:

· South Main Street, before the railroad tracks at 10th Avenue, continuing to 5th Avenue.

On-street parking spaces in these areas will be unavailable from 2:00 p.m. until the end of the parade. All closure times are subject to change.

Following the parade, the public is invited to join with friends and neighbors to celebrate the opening of Winter Wonderland’s 23rd year at J. Travis Price Park, 4155 Wilks Roads. This Springfield tradition boasts
