Meet the Team: Simmons Bank

As you walk into Simmons Bank on Raymond Hirsch Parkway in White House, you are immediately greeted by an all-female team of smiling faces ready to help with any banking need you may have.

You’ll notice their open concept branch, which gives a cozy and inviting vibe. You’ll also see they have a table by the door full of vegetable seeds that they are giving away for free— just because that’s the type of people they are.

Founded in 1903, Simmons Bank, Member FDIC, currently has over 200 locations spread throughout Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas. They were voted as one of the World’s Best Banks and America’s Best Midsize Employers by Forbes in 2023. They are known for having outstanding customer service and community involvement.

The White House Branch location certainly lives up to this reputation. The branch is currently involved in several community events this summer. According to Kate Key, the Financial Center Manager, they love to partner with existing nonprofits and businesses to do so.

“We try to find people who are doing good in the community and just accentuate that as much as we can,” Kate says.

Some examples include an Adoption Event partnered with Gigi’s Rescue and Girl Scout Troop #1370, Small Business week where they showcase small businesses within the community, serving free popcorn at the Movies Under the Stars event in coordination with the White House Area Chamber of Commerce, and partnering with Stay Positive News to help spread positive news stories about community members.

Not only is the Simmons Bank White House branch incredibly involved within their community, they also make an excellent team, Kate humbly boasts.

“The reason we work together so well as a team is simply because we feed off each other’s strengths. We all have areas that we excel in and areas where we need to lean into someone else’s abilities. We focus on highlighting those individual abilities so that we are consistently balancing each other out and creating a team that can assist our customers and one another with every situation presented to us,” says Kate.

Now this awesome five member team wants to share a little bit more about themselves:

How long have you been working for Simmons Bank?

Almost 4 years. I previously worked in the Goodlettsville branch for 3 years and then moved to the White House branch a year and a half ago.

What is your favorite part about working at Simmons Bank?

We get to meet a lot of people—we have a very small community. We get to figure out how everyone is related because everyone is connected somehow. I go to church right down the road, so I’m constantly seeing everybody around here. Everybody will do anything for you.

Where are you from?

I’m originally from Kentucky and moved down here 5 years ago. Now I live in Portland.

What do you do for fun?

I like to garden and do a lot of crafts. I did a few markets in the fall last year. I do a lot of Christmas and woodworking crafts because I have a cricut where I can do vinyl on wood, so I sold a lot of that last year.

What is a fun fact about you?

My brothers are 7 and 13 years older than me, and we are all the exact same height. My family is very short, so I can wear any of the clothes my brothers have. I used to dress up as my brother during opposite day during spirit week at school.

Kate Key

Assistant Financial Center Manager

How long have you been working for Simmons Bank?

About a year and a half.

What is your favorite part about working at Simmons Bank?

I love helping people. It has always been something that’s driven me since I was old enough to have my own opinions. I was the person who would run up to the someone struggling to get their groceries in the car during the pouring rain and help them. Once I found Simmons, I found that I was able to help people not only by being nice to them, but by helping them with finances too. Money doesn’t buy happiness, but if you don’t have a solid financial foundation, it can disrupt other aspects of your life. By allowing me to help people to be financially stable, that just helps take that pressure, stress, and insecurity off of them. It helps them live better lives.

Where are you from?

I live in White House, but I moved here in 2020 from Ohio.

What do you do for fun?

I’m a busy mom toting my daughter around to different activities. I am also a big reader. I have been tracking how many books I’ve read, and I’m about half way to my goal of reading 400 books.

What is a fun fact about you?

I bowl in a league with my husband.

Now that you know a little bit more about the fabulous ladies from Simmons Bank in White House, go give them a visit. They would love to sit down and learn more about any banking needs you may have, or hey, if you just want to go chat about books– they would probably love to do that too.

You can also follow them on Facebook to keep up with their latest happenings, and of course you can learn all about their hours of operation and what banking products they offer on their website, simmonsbank.com/locations/white-house
