Gym Owner Raises Money for Middle School Girls

Jon McAllister, owner of Fitness 1440 in White House, Tennessee, has issued a challenge to the community to help raise money for the #NoFilter Girls Summit put on by the White House Area Chamber of Commerce.

On May 27, at 10:00 am, McAllister and several others in the community plan to sit in the gym’s cold water tubs for as long as they can. Neighbors, friends, and family members have pledged dollar amounts for each minute they can last in the tub. All money fundraised will go directly to the White House Area Chamber of Commerce to provide financial assistance for young women registering for the #NoFilter Girls Summit.

McAllister’s servant heart and love for the community is inspired by his eight month old daughter. “We just really want to support the community where we are,” McAllister said. “That’s one of the big things that I’ve always wanted to keep in the forefront here at our gym: to give back to the community that gives to us.”

The summit will take place on June 23, and is geared towards rising 5th through 9th grade girls in middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky. Topics discussed will be health, wellness, self-defense, creativity, social media, and self-esteem. The cost is $30 per person, but financial assistance will be available thanks to many generous donations, including the donation to come from Fitness 1440.

There are many ways to get involved in this great cause: sign up to cold plunge on May 27, sponsor a person who is cold plunging, or simply make a donation to the White House Area Chamber of Commerce.
