City of Springfield Offering Free Horse Drawn Carriage Rides Downtown

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?

Back again after popular demand, the City of Springfield will be offering free, horse drawn carriage rides in historic downtown Springfield, TN to celebrate the magic of the holiday season.

Rides will be offered from 5 to 8 pm on December 7, 8, 14, and 21 and begin on West Court Square for a seven-minute route. Two carriages will be in constant rotation on a route through downtown Springfield and will be offered first come first serve.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to provide a fun, free holiday experience on our square and will be encouraging visitors to dine, shop, and discover local businesses and points of interest,” says Ace Timmermeier with Springfield Tourism.

Each guest will be offered a full color quad-fold printed map with listings of downtown businesses. These will also be provided to each merchant on the square and at local lodging accommodations.

Last year the free carriage rides were extremely popular and attracted many first-time visitors to Springfield from up to 2 hours away. Over 570 people participated, four riders celebrated birthdays, and one couple got engaged last year!

Don’t miss out on the lights, the bells, the horses, and a beautiful downtown with plenty of character in this unique opportunity to experience another charming part of Robertson County.
