Canine Transportation Comes to White House

The Magic Dog bus is exactly what the city of White House didn’t know they needed, until now.

Amy Williams, mastermind and owner of The Magic Dog Bus, is changing the way pups are brought to doggy daycare, and they officially launch on July 5, 2023.

The Magic Dog Bus is a convenient service that picks up dogs from their homes and takes them to their daycare or boarding facility of choice. Their entire staff is Pet CPR and First Aid Certified, and they can safely transport 12 to 15 pups at a time. They will be offering rides to House of Paws and Tiny Paws, well established Doggy Daycares in White House, TN.

“We are so excited to bring this convenience to the suburbs who don’t get the convenience of big city options because we are simply ‘too far,’” says Amy.

The Magic Dog Bus plans to offer meet-up locations, better known as "Bark-n-Rides" for those outlying communities that want to use their services and is already looking at expanding to other communities north of Nashville.

The idea for The Magic Dog Bus was dreamed up over five years ago, according to Amy. “In 2018, I worked at House of Paws with AnneMarie Sykes. We joked about purchasing a bus to pick up dogs and bring them to us, but the community wasn't ready. They were just getting used to the idea of taking their dog to daycare.”

“Flash forward to 2023, I was on TikTok and saw the same video 5 million others saw of the cutest pup wearing a jacket in Alaska boarding a bus with his friends. I instantly knew it was time, and I was doing it!” says Amy.

The name The Magic Dog Bus was inspired by Amy’s favorite show as a child, The Magic School Bus. “Mrs. Frizzle was my favorite teacher that I never had,” recalls Amy. “(She) will be a guest bus monitor one day, and I cannot wait for it. If anyone has connections, I'm all ears!”

What makes The Magic Dog Bus even better is that they are already giving back to the community in big ways. They are connected with local non-profits such as His Children Foundation, Isaiah 117 House, Grace Place Ministry, Race 4 Rach, Gigi's Rescue, PigFest, LiveLoveNashville, and they are adding new ones daily.

Their team's uniform shirts feature the logos of local non-profits on the front with The Magic Dog Bus logo only on the right sleeve.

“If people already know who we are, we want to introduce them to people in our community that are doing work that matters long term! Our weekly goal is to connect at least one individual with a local non-profit to make a positive impact in our community,” says Amy.

The Magic Dog Bus celebrated on June 20 alongside The White House Area Chamber of Commerce with a Ribbon Cutting at Rover’s Ridge Dog Park in White House. They were surrounded by many excited members of the community— both two legged and four legged— who support Amy’s terrific endeavor.
