Acts of Kindness: Blood Drive at Bath Fitter

Written by Hillary Morris

Bath Fitter celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, and what better way to celebrate than by giving back to the community? The Bath Fitter executive team proposed a challenge to its entire network: represent your 40th pride by doing acts of kindness. Throughout the past year, team members from retail to manufacturing to administration have gone above and beyond to spread kindness throughout their communities.

Bath Fitter Manufacturing of Springfield hosted a blood drive for the American Red Cross as one of its Acts of Kindness initiatives. After collecting a list of more than 30 donors, the team was able to schedule a mobile donation unit to come to the Plant on Friday, November 8.

“I’m so glad Bath Fitter was able to do this,” says Sherry Lambrecht, a purchaser at Bath Fitter. “I am always looking for ways I can help the community, and donating blood is my small service to this community. It saves so many lives.”

A single donation of blood can save up to three lives. Emergency workers strongly encourage whoever can donate to do so, especially people with type O blood - which can be donated to nearly anyone.

“I’m a universal donor so I try to give when I can,” says Materials team member Chris LaFlamme. “I’m glad I was able to donate since there was a time when I was told I couldn’t for certain reasons. It’s great Bath Fitter set this up. It was cool seeing our people come together like that.”

The staff of Bath Fitter Manufacturing would like to thank the team from American Red Cross who came out to conduct the blood drive. Everyone was professional, efficient, and informative. The company would also like to thank everyone who donated. Thank you showing your 40th pride, and for helping make a difference for good.
