A Place to Call Home: Sage North Honors Teachers with Heartfelt Benefits

When White House High School welcomed theater teacher Mindy Pierce to its faculty, she knew she was coming home—not just to Sumner County, but to a place where she could build a meaningful life with her students and community. Her new home at Sage North, a resort-style apartment community in White House, Tennessee, made that transition not only seamless but truly special.

Sage North recently launched its Teacher Benefit Program to recognize and support educators like Mindy, who pour so much into their students. “Teachers in Tennessee and Kentucky enjoy waived application fees, discounted move-in costs, and even a $500 gift card to help set up their classrooms for success,” says Jennifer Defrancesco of Sage North. “We are proud to call White House, TN, home—and even prouder to support the people who make this community thrive.”

For Mindy, the program—and the place—came at exactly the right time.

“I had to find a place quickly after being offered the position,” she recalls. “We toured Sage North and just knew it was the one. The community, the amenities, the friendliness—it was everything we were looking for.”

As a former leasing professional herself, Mindy knows the difference between a place to live and a place that feels like home. “You don’t feel like you’re just a resident here,” she says. “The staff treats you like they’re here to serve you. They went above and beyond to work with my budget and truly cared about my experience.”

Mindy, a proud Sumner County native who grew up in Hendersonville in the 1980s, has lived in Washington D.C., Honolulu, and Nashville, but it wasn’t until she returned to White House that she felt rooted again. “I used to say I wasn’t from anywhere. Now, I say I’m from Sumner County, Tennessee.”

Mindy at Home

At White House High School, she brings that same sense of belonging to her classroom and stage. A certified social studies teacher with a passion for performing arts, Mindy hopes to create a space for every student. “My high school drama teacher, Roberta Hancock, always made us feel like family. I want to give my students that same comfort—whether they’re on stage, backstage, in tech or costumes. There’s a place for everyone.”

And with a 446-seat auditorium, a state-of-the-art sound system, and students eager to shine, Mindy is thrilled to be part of this growing community.

Her advice for fellow educators? “Highly recommend Sage North. It’s less than five minutes from school, it’s peaceful, and most importantly—you feel respected and valued.”

With programs like these, it’s clear that Sage North isn’t just offering apartments—they’re building a community that champions those who inspire the next generation.
