4 Year Old Hosts Pet Adoption Birthday Party

Try to remember what your fourth birthday party looked like. It probably had cake, ice cream, balloons, family, friends, and lots of presents. It was likely fun, but otherwise unmemorable for you and anyone that attended (except for maybe your parents who had to foot the bill).

For Cora Fuller, her fourth birthday party was and will continue to be a memorable experience for the community of White House for years to come thanks to her and her family’s incredible generosity.

“When we first started talking about what kind of party she wanted, (Cora) said she wanted a puppy party,” said Katie Fuller, Cora’s mother.

“My entire family has a large love for animals and rescues,” she continued. “I got the idea of, what if we did an adoption party? And had adoptable dogs out to our birthday party.”

Fuller posted on Hip White House asking if there were any local rescues that would want to get involved, and the feedback was incredible. The post received over 100 comments and Fuller was able to connect and collaborate with both Gigi’s Rescue of Nashville and Deja Moo Creamery & Coffee Co of White House for the event.

Deja Moo Creamery & Coffee Co agreed to host the event and worked with Cora to create a special ice cream sundae for the party—a waffle bowl dipped in pink chocolate with one scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry on top. All of the proceeds from the sales of Cora’s sundae went directly to Gigi’s Rescue.

Gigi’s Rescue brought several puppies to Deja Moo the day of the party and interviewed families interested in adopting them. By the end of the day, there were multiple pending adoption applications.

In lieu of presents, Cora requested that guests bring donations for the animal shelter such as old sheets and bath towels, puppy pads, pine pellet litter, paper towels, bleach, laundry detergent, small dog treats, cat treats, and newspapers.

The party was a huge success. “We had such a great turn out, and I think Gigi’s was really happy with how everything happened,” said Fuller.

Cora may not fully understand yet how her kindness has affected her community, but those involved know what an incredible difference she, the Fuller family, and Deja Moo Creamery & Coffee Co made.

There are still a few puppies who attended the party in need of a home. Visit https://www.gigisanimalrescue.org/ to learn more or start the adoption process.

If you are unable to adopt a puppy at this time, Gigi’s Rescue is always looking for foster families or donations to help pay for their supplies and direct costs associated with keeping their rescue animals. More information on this can also be found on their website.
