2024 Legacy Award Voting Now Open: Celebrate Our Community's Finest!

The countdown has begun for the highly anticipated 2024 Legacy Awards! We are thrilled to announce that voting for the top three finalists in each of our five award categories is now officially open. This is your chance to honor and recognize outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to our community.

Voting is simple: cast your vote for each category using the form linked here. Remember, you may only vote once per category. Voting will close on November 2, and the winners will be unveiled during the prestigious Legacy Gala on November 7, 2024! You may purchase tickets to the event here.

Award Categories and Finalists:

1. Next Gen Leader Award: This award recognizes a child who’s shown positive leadership through volunteer work within their school and community and has a bright future ahead.

Jackson Old: A compassionate 13-year-old who regularly visits the local nursing home, bridging generational gaps through service and engagement.

Emma Carter: A dedicated senior at Greenbrier High School known for her extensive community service, including her latest project baking for local firefighters.

Ava Lassiter: A proactive volunteer in the Cross Plains community, recognized for her leadership in various local initiatives.

2. Educator Award: This award recognizes an educator who has an outstanding commitment to preparing students for success, and they have gone above and beyond their professional requirements to make significant contributions for the betterment of their students, school, and community.

Debbie Brewer: A passionate leader in the CDC programs at Sumner County Schools, known for her supportive approach and commitment to student success.

Colby Swift: An inspiring teacher at Heritage who connects deeply with his students, embodying the essence of mentorship.

Dr. Kimberly Hass: A visionary principal dedicated to fostering excellence and equity at W.H. Heritage HS, advocating for all learners.

3. Hometown Hero Award: This award recognizes a police officer, firefighter, military, EMS worker, or medical personnel for their commitment to serving the community through their profession. They have demonstrated heroism through extraordinary acts of courage and humanitarian service and have an unconditional desire to lend a helping hand to those around them.

Scott Woodward: A dedicated firefighter and community leader who has established vital training programs for future firefighters.

FTO Keziah Oakes: A remarkable role model in law enforcement, committed to community safety and empowerment.

Joe Williams: The long-standing Chief of a Volunteer Fire Department, demonstrating unwavering commitment to public service despite challenges.

4. Community Leader Award: This award recognizes any exceptional employee or volunteer of a non-profit organization. Nominees for this award stand out because of their exceptional professional and/or volunteer achievements in the community which are above and beyond their defined role. These nominees embody the spirit of the community and are an inspiration to others through their actions and accomplishments.

Mandy Christenson: The driving force behind the White House Area Chamber of Commerce, known for her dedication to local businesses and community initiatives.

Ann Manly: A fitness instructor at the White House Senior Center, inspiring seniors through her engaging classes.

Jessica Brown: Founder of His Children Foundation, providing essential support to children entering foster care.

5. Leaving a Legacy Award: The recipient of this award has demonstrated positive leadership throughout multiple places within the community. Additionally, they have influenced and inspired in such a way that they will continue to leave a positive legacy for many years to come. This person has gone above and beyond, time and time again, to serve and improve their community and is a role model for many.

Chris & Sue Banning: Chiropractors turned visionaries, launching Way Maker Place to support challenged adult men in the community.

Nathan Harmening: A social worker and advocate for youth aging out of foster care, significantly impacting the foster care community.

Tiffany Thomson: A dedicated coordinator serving families through multiple initiatives, focusing on holistic support.
